Residents of Hackensack and Hiram Township can vote in person during election days at the Hackensack Community Building, east of Hwy 371 on Lake Ave., next to the baseball field and water tower. Note: Due to COVID-19, voting for 2020 will be by mail-in ballot only. No in person voting for the City of Hackensack or Hiram Township.
To make a water and sewer payment, residents can put their payment in the drop-box just inside the first door of CIty Hall or mail in through the US Postal Service.
Residents or visitors of Hackensack may file a complaint in writing and put it into the drop-box just inside the first door of City Hall or mail in through the US Postal Service.
Regular garbage service to your residence can be provided by several companies serving the Hackensack area. Contact Waste Partners in Pine River, MN or City Sanitary Service in Walker, MN. For items not appropriate for the garbage, residents may take them to the Transfer Station & Recycling Center north of Hackensack on 44th St NW.
Regular City Council meetings are held on the first Monday of each month with occasional changes due to holidays or weather related events. Meetings are held in City Hall and open to the public to attend. Note: Due to COVID-19, meetings are currently being held online via Zoom. To attend a City Council meeting over Zoom, please contact City Hall at least 2 hours before the meeting to obtain the meeting information.
The City Hall can not be reserved for non-city use. The Community Building can be rented/reserved for private use dependent on scheduled use. Contact City Hall for rates and availability.
